ICAI Organises Key GST Seminar on GSTR-9, GSTR-9C Annual Returns and Litigation

ICAI J&K Seminar on GSTR-9, 9C and GST Litigations

The Jammu & Kashmir Branch of NIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organised a seminar on “GSTR-9, GSTR-9C & GST Litigations” at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road.

Under the banner of the GST & Indirect Taxes Committee of ICAI, the programme was conducted and witnessed enthusiastic participation from members.

P. K. Bhat, Commissioner (State Taxes), Jammu & Kashmir, attended the occasion as the Chief Guest. He admired the role of ICAI in spreading the awareness of GST and outlined the significance of accurate and timely GSTR-9, GSTR-9C annual returns filing to ensure seamless tax administration.

In his welcome address, CA Sourav Pargal, Chairman of the ICAI J&K Branch, emphasised the commitment of the branch to promoting continuous professional development. He noted that the seminar sought to address the practical challenges that members encounter in annual compliance and litigation related to GST.

Eminent speakers give technical deliberations. CA Navya Malhotra, who addresses GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C, covering key reporting aspects, reconciliation issues, and practical challenges professionals encounter. CA Tarun Arora, who delivered an insightful session on GST Litigations, discussed notices, audit proceedings, documentation standards, and current developments in GST dispute resolution.

CA Jatin Malhotra, Secretary, moderated and steered the programme, ensuring seamless coordination of the sessions and streamlined active engagement between the speakers and participants.

CA Amit Gupta, Vice Chairman, delivers a formal vote of thanks. He expresses his gratitude to the Chief Guest, speakers, and participating members for their contributions to the success of the seminar.

The overall coordination of the event has also been supported by the members of the Branch Management Committee, including CA Ayush Sawhney and CA Ayush Mahajan.
