Government is on set to release the GST in this Session

There is little hope of the Goods and Service Tax bill to be getting passed in this session, as the time befalls out in the ongoing winter session of Parliament. The next discussion on the same topic will be happened today. On Sunday evening, the Congress party met to discuss about the parliament strategy. The Congress appears dour about the disrupting business in Rajya Sabha on the some issue.

It to be said that the Government is on set to release the long pending tax reform bill in Rajya Sabha this week. Following the previous week, the Government has set four hours for the discussion and passage on the bill in the Rajya Sabha and the next three hours for the Real Estate bill 2013.

Senior ministers reported that the likelihood of a second round of meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi was very dim. Though some efforts have been made to reach out to other senior Congress leaders from both the Houses of Parliament, there is not much to cheer for the government as Rahul Gandhi has openly spoken against the bill last week.

Union minister said “We see little hope of the GST bill getting passed in this session now, but efforts are on. Since the Congress has softened its stance in the Rajya Sabha to some extent, we may try to get other bills passed this week,”
