The Income Tax department on June 7, 2021, launched its new e-filing portal www.incometax.gov.in. This new portal aims to provide convenience and a modern, seamless experience to taxpayers. However, many technical glitches have been reported by taxpayer ever since its launch. The ICAI also made a presentation on all the reported issues and presented during a meeting with finance ministry officials and Infosys representatives.
The new e-filing portal has many features and benefits, some of them are immediate processing of income tax returns (ITRs); all-in-one dashboard to observed interactions and uploads or pending actions; the seamless way to update their profile; more detailed helpful content for taxpayers; Function to file Income Tax Forms, Add tax professionals, Submit responses to Notices in Faceless Scrutiny or Appeals.
