You shall be amazed to know that since July 24, every day more than 1 lakh income-tax returns have been filed on the new web portal of the Income Tax Department. Worth mentioning here that the new website of the Income Tax Department was launched on June 7 of this year. In fact on Tuesday and Wednesday, the number of ITR filed was 1.5 lakhs every day.
It is also important to mention here that since the launch of the new E-filing web portal on June 7 (designed and developed by Infosys), the website has been experiencing technical glitches and other issues too. Nevertheless, considering the opinion of taxpayers and tax practitioners, technical issues and slow speed are still a concern.
Leaving aside ITRs filed and coming to the number of visitors on the aforesaid website, more than 1 million people logged on to the portal each day in the last 15 days.

To resolve the issue. Meetings have been going on and the regular feedback is a part of the efforts to resolve the technical glitches and other issues on the website.
