The Indian govt has collected Rs 2,03,521 crore as GST for September, which is an increase of 14.7% against the same month last year, official data specified.
For the first half of this Financial year (April-Sep), the cumulative gross collection arrived at Rs 12,46,278 crore, which is an increase of 11.6%.
In September, the refunds were down 3% year on year to Rs 27,001 crore.
The September collection of CGST was Rs 37,762 crore, SGST amounted to Rs 45,363 crore, while IGST stood at Rs 1,20,396 crore.
Total net GST revenue has surged by 18.1% y-o-y, to Rs 1,76,520 crore.
Gross domestic revenue of India has surged by 10.1% from Rs 1,25,334 crore to Rs 1,37,996 crore. Meanwhile, the Net domestic revenue has surged by 13.5% to Rs 1,24,491 crore.
Among major states, Maharashtra secured the highest GST collections of ₹29,986 crore in September, up 15% from ₹25,973 crore a year ago. Karnataka came in second with collections of ₹13,884 crore, a 16% increase, while Gujarat’s GST revenue rose 17% to ₹12,222 crore.
An 18% rise in GST revenue to Rs 8,882 crore has been recorded by the state of Uttar Pradesh. The same was Rs 7,516 crore in the previous year. Telangana has notified an 18% rise, with collections increasing to Rs 5327 crore from Rs 4512 crore. There is an 18% rise in the GST revenue of Punjab to Rs 2549 crore.
The GST collections of Assam have seen the strongest growth, at 88% among the larger states year on year, to Rs 2,415 crore from Rs 1,287 crore.
It is followed by the state of Manipur, where the surge is 145% to Rs 92 crore, and the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland recorded growth of 46% and 39%, respectively.
In September, various States have declared a reduction in GST collections. Sikkim has witnessed the sharpest fall, with the revenue reducing to 51% to Rs 194 crore.

The collections of Jammu and Kashmir have reduced by 29% to Rs 487 crore, while Uttarakhand saw a 23% reduction to Rs 1,277 crore, and Himachal Pradesh recorded a 21% reduction to Rs 640 crore.
The GST revenue of Tamil Nadu has declined by 5% year-on-year to Rs 10,188 crore. Goa collections have reduced by 7% to Rs 494 crore. Puducherry has witnessed a 31% decline to Rs 179 crore, and the collections of Meghalaya have reduced by 14% to Rs 164 crore.

Among other major states, Kerala has seen 11% growth in GST revenue to Rs 3,328 crore. A 6% growth was witnessed in West Bengal to Rs 5549 crore; Odisha’s collection rose by 10% to ₹4,356 crore, while in Madhya Pradesh, it stood at ₹3,198 crore, marking a 5% increase. Rajasthan’s collection remained unchanged at ₹4,151 crore, compared to ₹4,165 crore the previous year.
