Over 3 Crore ITRs Filed Till 18th July 2023

ITR filing 2023: Till now nearly 3 cr ITRs would have been filed for the AY 2023-24.

Over 3 cr ITRs for the AY 2023-24 would have been filed till 18th July, as per the income tax department, in this year as compared to 3 cr ITRs filed till 25th July in the former year.

Thanks to our assessees and the tax professionals who have made us attain the milestone of 3 cr ITRs, before seven days of the current year, compared to the former year over 3 cr Income tax returns would have been filed till the date of 18th July in the same year compared to three cr ITRs furnished till 25th of the July in the former year, the income tax department said.

Till 18th July 2023, out of the 3.06 crore ITRs filed, 2.81 crore ITRs have been e-verified i.e. exceeding more than 90% have been e-verified by taxpayers. It is estimated that more than 1.50 crore ITRs have already been processed from the e-verified ITRs!

For those individuals who have not filed the ITR for the AY 2023-24, the tax department would have requested to file their ITR so as to prevent the last-minute rush.

File ITR by 31st July- No Last Date Extension

The government has asked individuals to file their income tax returns as soon as possible and has said that it won’t extend the deadline past July 31.

Income taxpayers have been urged by Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra to file their returns as soon as possible. We anticipate that the filing will be greater than last year, and we are optimistic that it will be.

We would want to applaud those who have filed income tax returns since they have done so much more quickly than they did last year. We also urge them not to wait until the last minute or ask for extensions.

As a result, I suggest that they file their tax return as soon as possible because the deadline of July 31 is quickly approaching.
