Government Partners With ICAI To Launch GST Training Programme

ICAI GST Training Programme

The Government of India and the ICAI (The Institute of Cost Accountants of India) came together to organize a GST-training programme across India for training one lakh accountants. This programme is being launched because of the problems faced with GST Compliance especially by the SMEs (small and medium enterprises). This is the solution to this problem and will be launched in February 2019.

The programme for training one lakh GST accountants has been proposed by Niti Aayog which aims that the training will take one year time to complete said ICAI president Amit A Apte. Apte said that the GST Compliance problem is being faced by many businesses but the most suffered are the SMEs. he also added, “This course will help ease the supply of accounting professionals who would enable them to achieve compliance”.

Apte said “The entire programme will be government-funded with ICAI as the partner. Entrance exams will be conducted for the GST accountant course and those who are not professionally qualified as of now to be GST advisers/consultants will be eligible for this programme”.

This programme will be conducted by ICAI and will be of one year which will be conducted in three batches in 300 centres in India. It will be of only 80 hours long with 100 chapters.
