It is worthwhile mentioning that the Central Board of Direct Taxes through its press release dated November 26, 2020, has made mandatory the authentication of the Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) Here, we explained all steps of registration and generation UDIN on ICAI portal. The ICAI has provided a Unique Document Identification Number for the GST and Tax audit report. Read more that is originated from the ICAI portal in all the IT Forms and Audit Reports and have been uploaded at the e-filing portal.
At present, The CBDT is in the proceeding of mandating the updating process of UDINs for all IT Forms before its uploading on the e-filing portal by the respective members. In other words, in the first instance, members shall be required to first generate UDIN and provide it while uploading the Income Tax Forms. Furthermore, CBDT has extended the date for uploading UDINs for all the IT forms at the e-filing portal till June 30, 2021.
Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances, all the members are hereby requested to utilize this opportunity and update the UDINs on the e-filing portal at the earliest but not after June 30, 2021, to avoid invalidation.
