The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) declared GST portal updates introducing new payment methods along with the addition of Canara Bank and Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank as partners towards e-payments that extend the available options range for assesses allowing UPI tax payments for Punjab and Uttarakhand.
The services of Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank Ltd for GST payments, via Net Banking (e-Payment) and Over the Counter (OTC) methods, have been enabled by GSTN. Also, Canara Bank has been integrated as a payment gateway permitting digital payments through UPI and cards. This expands the range of payment options available and seeks to offer greater flexibility to taxpayers.

Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Canara Bank, and Karnataka Bank are the GSTN network of partner banks. The partnership has the motive to ease the GST payment process and rectify the transaction’s efficiency.
The taxpayer has the choice of distinct payment methods that include Net Banking, OTC, Debit/Credit Cards, and UPI, making compliance with GST needs more convenient compared to before times.
