Most of the daily labourers are in deep problems after the implementation of goods and services tax as well as of Demonetisation and are still finding hard to get work and cash in Kerala state.
One of the labourers recently unveiled that due to the implementation of GST and Demonetisation, the labour industry saw a steep decline in earning as well as employment.
He referred to GST as a threat to the businesses as it proved to be very complex and further led to cash crunch ion the business by implementing non-favourable operations.
Migrants labourers may reproduce perfect figures of what GST has caused to the industry and further clears the speculations that millions of job losses were reported in the first year of GST implementation.
Nationwide studies based on the unskilled and semi-skilled workers have offered deep insight into the industry of labourers which further indicates that there are around 11 million job losses reported in which most of them are from the unorganised rural sector.
One other labour explained that he misses out on the cash received from where he was working as the owner didn’t have much cash to pay to them after the Demonetisation.
After which he went ahead to say that GST may be a good decision and but it didn’t work as expected. As the goods and services tax also impacted foreign investment due to its faulty and incomplete compliance.
In Kerala alone, Demonetisation took away 60 per cent of the real estate business while the GST came to forward to cause more harm to the sector by confusing the buyers and builders alike.
