The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has inaugurated new premises for the GST Suvidha Kendra and GST Seva Kendra in Coimbatore to provide stronger support to taxpayers and enhance GST-related services.
As per the PIB release, the Coimbatore Central GST Commissionerate shifted its GST Suvidha Kendra to Aadithyaa Towers on Trichy Road, Ramanathapuram, and also opened an additional GST Seva Kendra at the same location. Principal Commissioner Dinesh P. Pangarkar had inaugurated the facilities on May 6, 2026.
The GST Suvidha Kendra will manage biometric authentication and document verification for new GST applicants, along with the fingerprint, iris scan, and photograph capture, to curb fake registrations and improve the GSTIN approvals.
A GST Seva Kendra has been launched as a taxpayer support centre, providing help with GST registration, filing returns, paying taxes, claiming input tax credits, obtaining refunds, resolving technical portal problems, and addressing complaints.
As per the officials, the new centres can lessen compliance issues for businesses and enhance direct interaction between taxpayers and the GST department.
The initiative is to improve transparency in GST administration, reduce fake registrations through stringent verification processes, and provide quicker resolution of taxpayer queries and procedural issues.
