The updated version of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) website is doing well after it initially faced many technical issues and received feedback from users two years ago. The new version, which includes 38 new online forms, was officially launched on January 14.
The revised forms are made to improve compliance efficiency and clarity via intelligent linked filings, auto-prefill with data validation, increased file size limits, and an offline mode for flexibility and accessibility.
Now, company secretaries and chartered accountants using the new portal said login and registration are free from nuisance. Certain teething issues were there as users mentioned that such were anticipated and shall be solved in the forthcoming days.
Problems were encountered when the first set of forms was moved to Version 3 in 2023. The main issue was the login and registration itself, which has been easier now. Previously, it was getting difficult to enter the system.
A dedicated helpline service has been initiated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) from Monday to Friday between 11.00 am and 5.30 pm for those facing issues with the portal. Before the launch, ICAI was part of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase.
After the launch, members and stakeholders have given feedback to ICAI. Wherever needed, the concerns have been duly conveyed before the MCA for their acknowledgement and the required resolution, an ICAI spokesperson expressed.
Taking the data for specific forms via MCA Version 3 for auto-filling is not easier till now; however, it is anticipated to be solved in the forthcoming days, as per the experts.
Master data of many companies must be migrated to the new system. In these early days, the issues encountered are specifically related to the fetching of data. These things will get resolved with time, an industry professional mentioned.
Forms in Version 2 needed to be filled out and uploaded on the portal, and in Version 3, the forms need to be filled out online. The same allows the user convenience, along with the ability to save a half-filled form and submit the same thereafter.
