The Indian government on Friday warned manufacturers, sellers, and importers to revise maximum retail price (MRP) of the goods manufactured and packaged before 1st July, with the post-GST price sticker. Or else, they would have to suffer from penalties ranging from fines upto Rs 1 lakh or prison for one year.
According to the new notification issued by the government, now, retailers and manufacturers can sell their old inventory as per the new GST prices till September. But several industries, companies, and businesses are upset with this announcement as to why the government has not issued this notification earlier.
After the spending, three days of Goods and Services (GST) Regime in India Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha on Monday conducted a review meeting to evaluate the stock after the implementation of new indirect taxation regime. The Cabinet Secretary has asked from all ministers and departments to give their views about the new regime.
