Infosys who is under issue for its new income tax return filing portal, specified by its CEO Salil Parekh that the new ITR portal made through his company is seeing growth and declares that there are 1.9 cr returns that have already been furnished through this portal. “He further said that taxpayers’ concerns are being progressively addressed.”
“We are seeing steady progress on the income tax system. As of yesterday, we had over 1.9 crore returns that have been filed using the new system. Today the income tax return Forms 1 to 7 are all functional. Most of the statutory forms are available on the system, said Parekh post to the result of the company for the 2nd quarter.”
But he does not signify that when these technical issues get solved out and when the functions of the portal will be available to use for filing the taxes along with the other functions. There are nearly about 3.8 cr users who have finished several transactions and that 2 to 3 lakh return used to furnish on each day said, Parekh.
“Over the past month, the portal has been further bolstered…the system has seen steady increase in usage over the past few weeks, and the taxpayer’s concerns are being progressively addressed, ensured by Parekh.”
For posing a smoother performance that the users can experience the Infosys is just engaged along with more than 1200 assessees, Parekh specified that the firm in the previous months is executing his work within the CAs to make sure that all users for all the concerns regarding the income tax portal will be “supported and thoroughly tested before deployment”.
The organization shall carry on its operations and is just confident to ensure that the experience to all the assessee will get better.

Upon this bigger agreement from the tax department, Infosys had made the new portal however it gets troubled through the issues since its launch dated 7th June.
On June 22 the first meet was held between the administrators of Infosys and the officials of the Finance ministry where they discuss the glitches faced through the stakeholders along with the assessee upon the IT portal.
The issues continue to affect the functionality of the portal, said FM Nirmala Sitharaman to CEO of Infosys dated 23rd August and specified that all the issues must get resolved by 15th September.
Infosys in 2019 was provided with the contract to make the new filing portal to replace the one which was in use at that time and now the time has been shrunk from 63 days to just 1 day.
The FM has prolonged the last dates to file the tax returns twice and the concerned forms for all the assessees. Also for some cases, the need for compulsory use of the digital signature has been exempted.
31st Dec 2021 will be the extended last date to furnish the ITR for FY21 for the individual assessee.
