All the 66.7 lakh newly registered taxpayers hardly pay a 15% tax. The tax we get from them is only 15 percent of the total tax. This amount is about Rs 10,000 crore. That is why we are closely monitoring these new taxpayers to ensure that these taxpayers are not fake. “
Sushil Modi said that since the implementation of the GST system in the country, the total number of registered taxpayers in it reaches 1.21 crore. In it, 66.79 lakh are newly registered taxpayers.
According to him, many states have started the work of taking and collecting information of these taxpayers by reaching their premises, geo-tagging and uploading photographs of their workplaces from mobile to their computer system.
Modi also made aware about the new decisions in the same conversion that, “We have decided in a meeting of the GST Council that if a company does not file its 3B return for two consecutive months, then their e-way bill will be blocked/ stopped.” according to the report, E-way bills of 3.47 lakh dealers have been already stopped.
