The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has invited suggestions of the stakeholder on the proposed Integrated Platform for Insolvency Ecosystem (iPIE), a unified platform that will merge various business procedures and digital services into a common technology structure.
The ministry mentioned that the platform is contemplated to assist end-to-end digital workflows, ease real-time data exchange among authorised stakeholders, and lessen the dependence on manual procedures across the insolvency lifecycle. The platform brings various stakeholders, processes, and technology systems together under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
“The IBC has strengthened India’s insolvency framework through a structured and time-bound process. However, the ecosystem continues to operate on multiple standalone systems requiring manual coordination and exchange of information among stakeholders,” the MCA stated.
The iPIE asks to merge data from key institutions in the insolvency structure, along with the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), MCA, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), Information Utilities and Insolvency Professionals. As per MCA, the platform shall build a consolidated data repository to allow statistical and predictive analysis.
It shall log all activities like claim submission, verification, admission, rejection, including the data and document access, upload, download, editing and deletion.
The MCA, in its consultation paper, stated that the structure shall conduct and process claims from creditors, which provides a facilitated interface for submission, verification and admission, improving clarity and compliance in the process of handling the claims.

A module is there to store and manage all the stakeholder data and communicate with the stakeholders engaged in or impacted by the procedure, the ministry stated.
The MCA has involved KPMG Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. as the Project Management Unit and CMS Computers India Pvt. Ltd. as the System Integrator (SI) for this project.
“Given the cross-functional nature of the platform and its potential impact on a wide range of stakeholders… the need to incorporate diverse perspectives in shaping the platform’s design and functional scope at an early stage is paramount,” the MCA stated.
In the Union Budget 2024-25, Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed setting up an Integrated Technology Platform for enhancing outcomes under the IBC and ensuring consistency, transparency, timely processing and better oversight for all stakeholders.
As per the data of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), the time taken for the total corporate insolvency resolution procedure has surged every year, reaching 744 days as of March 2026, against the mandated time limit of 330 days.
As a percentage of admitted claims, realisations under the IBC arrived at 30.56 per cent as of March 2026, as compared to 32.8 per cent which is in the previous year. As a percentage of liquidation value, realisations reduced from 170 per cent as of March 2025 to 167 per cent as of March 2026, as per IBBI data.
