Director General Sunil Misra of Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA) told the reporters that, “We are of the view the electricity should be brought under GST because the credit will be available and electricity will be cheaper.”
The Director-General Sunil Misra said that IEEMA (Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association) has made a portrayal for the administration requesting them to bring the electricity under Goods and service tax (GST), as it will make the power cheaper.
IEEMA said “Electricity is considered under energy…Our job is to push the government to get GST and electricity under the GST Act. If the government is able to do it then it is fine.”
IEEMA, the apex industry association of manufacturers of electrical, mechanical gadgets and associated hardware in India, is assembling the ELECRAMA 2018 from March 10-14.
