After the rolling out of GST Regime in India, some of the industries benefited with the new regime whereas some are in trouble. The manufacturing sector is one of the most important sectors in the country, retailers and dealers are facing problems to purchase goods. Initially, they are focusing to clear their available or old stock.
The transporters are in trouble due to new regime:-
- The transport or freight work has been stopped from a month before the roll- out of the new regime.
- Finally, after the implementation of the new indirect tax regime, neither goods are manufactured in factories nor purchased by vendors or shopkeepers.
- After the roll out of Goods and Services Tax Regime, vendors and shopkeepers are focusing to clear old inventory.
- The transport industry is facing issue due to new GST regime, that they don’t have money to pay driver and Khalaasi.
- For a month there is a chance of recession in the markets due to the new regime, the transport industry is fearing that they have to bear losses.
Gandhi Nagar
Gandhi Nagar Market is one of the Asia’s largest clothing market. After the roll- out of GST regime this area can be seen very peaceful. The Godowns of big transport companies are located in this area, which can be seen empty these days.
In the views of Malik Transport, Anu says that, Before Eid festival, the market was at slow down, it was the first Eid when the transport industry had no work to do. About 50- 60 trucks usually transport goods in Punjab, Haryana and other states. But now-a-days trucks are going empty. Laborers as well as drivers are upset and everyone is fearing that how to earn the livelihood.

Karol Bagh
In Karol Bagh, people who load goods in transport are in the worried state of mind these days. The proprietor of Sky Express is worrying about the future and said After 29th June we didn’t get any receipt, now you can estimate how it is difficult for us to adopt new Goods and Services Tax Regime. Apart from the rent of Godown, we have to pay the salary of labourers, and if this condition happens it is difficult to carry out the expenses.
Lajpat Nagar
Lajpat Nagar is one of the places where you get western dresses, suits, sarees, tops, and kurtis. This is not the wholesale market but you can see a crowd of customers in front of the shop from morning to night. Generally, girls and women visit this market, because they get latest collection of clothes. The shopkeepers are not purchasing new goods due to the new regime and this affects the local transport companies. The laborers and drivers are unhappy because there is no work to do, they don’t get sufficient amount of earnings and the expenses are enhancing.

Kamala Market
Generally, spare parts, hardware tools, books, and printed papers are carried through Kamala Market. The labourers have no work to do and the boss is in trouble and worrisome. The head of the Association, Rajendra Kapoor says that no one is able to understand the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Regime, we are trying to work with GST number but no one clarifies that what will happen.
