Goods and Services Tax (GST) is the topic of criticism for different industries in India. The protest is lined-up and Brass Industry on Tuesday joined the rally. Thousands of people related to Industry like brass factory owners and manufacturers accumulated at Idgah Maidan and showcased a protest against the government. Representatives of the protest have demanded to take back the GST move. Protesters said that it was demonetization which critically affected the brass industry and after that, the GST implementation has just ruined the industry.

Hazi Ashraf, the organizer of the protest said that Moradabad is known as the ‘Pital Nagari‘ across the world. But, the current situation is very different and it’s all due to Government’s tactics. Previously, the handmade items are out of stamp duty and exporters have to file tax. But due to GST implementation, all the scenario has changed. He further said, there are almost 15 thousands of factories in Moradabad ranging from small to large industries and almost 15 lakh people just depend on this for livelihood. Due to GST implementation, the home-based furnaces are closed.

During the protest, the craftsmen reached the Idgah Maidan and started uttering the slogans against the government. They also decided to send a demand letter to the GST Council.
