In a trial run by GSTN (Goods and Services Tax Network), it is noticed down that around 2 lakh GST e-way bills daily generated as suggested by GSTN CEO in a report.
Prakash Kumar, GSTN CEO said, “It (GST e-way-bill platform) has been opened up for all states and union territories. Taxpayers and transporters from all states are registering, enrolling and generating the e-way-bills on a trial basis. The trial is up to the end of this month.”
The GST e-way bill arrangement makes the easy transfer of goods through states and removes the requirement for a transit pass at every stoppage.
Applying from February 1, 2018, the movement of goods between the states valuing more than Rs 50,000 will need consent in advance by utilizing the online platform for GST e waybill registration. The norms suggest that the registration can be cancelled as well within 24 hours of furnishing the details.
Querying about ease furnishing of GST returns, he said the better description for this is a “work in progress”. The states like Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Gujarat, Kerala, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Karnataka have rolled out e-way bill trial and following the provisions as well in the country.
