GST Council Meets Today Reviewing and Deciding Further Course of Action

The goods and services tax has been into the economic structure of the nation from the last two weeks and now it’s time to review everything for a better control in upcoming prospects. The GST Council will be meeting today to have an overview of the goods and services and all the work done by the tax scheme.

The meeting will be considered the first meeting after the coming down of new tax regime while on the list of continuity, it will be the 19th from the row. The meeting will do by the method of advanced technologies engaged through video conferencing unlike round table face to face discussions.

The finance ministry tweeted the same on its handle, “19th Meeting of GST Council under the chairmanship of finance minister Arun Jaitley will be held through video conferencing on 17 July in Delhi.” Earlier the meeting was decided for 5th August which was considered way too ahead and to take the stock of GST was also under necessary targets.

There are various issues stuck into the pipeline, i.e. e-way bill which is unlikely to be discussed due to no rules and regulations drafted up till now, but the council will take a turn towards the tax rates which are raising concern across the nation after the GST implementation.

As War rooms were setup in the finance ministry previous this month, to eradicate any queries and issues for the clarification of the officials and taxpayers are also working on full pace. Apart from this, the government also clarified there are no changes conceived for the taxation of legal service until now. The statement mentioned that “Legal services, which include representational services, provided by advocates are under reverse charge in the GST era.”
