Unlimited Tax Return Filing

Government Ready for Action Against Tax Evaders

The government is ready to convey the surveys and searches for the businesses who haven’t paid the taxes yet and will try to bring more of companies under the umbrella of GST net. The hunt will probably start from next week. The decision to make a check is the result of deliberate consideration made between the PM and the Union Minister last week.

The government is planning to do the check in an organised manner and whether the reason is intentional avoidance or unintentional, the Council will try to find out the reasons for not filing the tax and returns. For this searches, hired tax officers(around 200 IAS or IRS officers) will go around the places and do the physical inspection of shops or premises.

An official avail for those searches says, “As you know that the government is working towards increasing the tax base. So we recently received directions that new registrations under GST have to be increased. In that regard, we will conduct surveys across the country to find out the eligible businesses that have still not registered with us. So our officers will be soon on the field to get this moving.”

The initiate of government is appreciated by Industries, Experts, and Economist. The experts dictate the reason for tax-avoidance may be the fear of upcoming questions on past revenues or small companies are facing technical issues so couldn’t able to comply with the norms. So, the move will be able to widen the scope of GST coverage.
