On March 28th, 2020, the Prime Minister’s Office released a notification asking the people of the country and abroad to generously donate to the ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund)’ to help the government in controlling the spread of coronavirus, COVID-19. The virus has been spread to the whole world now and is declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). No country has been safe from this outbreak and millions of people are suffering because of it. The effect of the virus in India is very very bad and both the economy and the people are being affected by the virus.
The Prime Minister’s office has asked the people to donate in the fund so that the government can take the necessary steps to curb the further spread of the virus. A lot of individuals have been making generous donations to the funds helping the government. Infrastructure and services, like building capacities for quick emergency response and effective community resilience are required to alleviate the problem arising from the outbreak. The procurement of the latest technology devices and medical services requires funds, so the people are motivated to make donations, whether small or big, according to their capacity. Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund) was set up to control any kind of pandemic, epidemic or any other kind of stress arising in the country like that faced because of the outbreak of COVID-19.
