The business community of Chattisgarh asked the Congress government to remove the e-way bill and for sectors like stationary, clothing and cycle, only one tax slab must be applied.
A letter was passed by CAIT (Confederation of All India Traders) to the cabinet minister TS Singhdeo which stated that there must be changes made in Goods and Services Tax (GST) structure. CAIT (Confederation of All India Traders) also demanded to slash the GST e-way bill applicable on more than a dozen items being traded inside the state.
The letter states “Increase the turnover of Rs 20 lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs required for GST registration and cancel the mandatory GST registration for smaller businessmen, as such small traders run their business in limited resources”.
It reads that the present 18% increased GST on the paints and colours which are utilized by the weaker section society must be reduced. Because of the situation of the pre-owned vehicles, the traders are demanding that the tax on it must be of 5% slab. The letter reads “Two-wheelers are used by middle-class people, so the GST on these vehicles should be reduced from 28 per cent to 18 per cent. The industry of cycle, tricycle, cycle rickshaws and parts are facing a lot of tax filing hurdles as they are applicable to all four tax slabs of the GST. GST must be reduced to the lowest amount on the farming equipment such as motor pump set, power cable, pipes and other products, which holds a GST rate of 12 per cent”.
CAIT (Confederation of All India Traders) requested to extend the date for filing TRANS 1 and TRANS 2 because many businessmen forgot to file it as they did not have much information about the dates and provisions and also for the annul of reverse charge on transactions made from the unregistered entity.
