Central Board of indirect taxes and customs (CBIC) has finally extended the AEO certification validity for the relief in the renewal process and has now fixed the date of 30th September 2020. As per the recent reference given by the board which is concerned with the Para 5.1 Circular No. 33/2016-Customs dated July 22, 2016, amended vide Para viii of Circular 03/2018-Customs dating 17.01.2018.

The circular has included some of the points such as “Validity of AEO Certificate” and stats “the validity of AEO certificate shall be three years for AEO- T1 and AEO- T2, and five years for AEO-T3 and AEO-LO” Also, the board has seen the presentation concerned with the formation of the field and the difficulties which are arising by the entities of AEO who are continuously in demand of certification renewal.
As per the board, it says, “to extend the validity of all the AEO certificates expired/expiring between March 01, 2020, and September 30, 2020, to September 30, 2020, except for those entities against which a negative report is received during this period.”
