In the two-day conclave of senior IT department officials, the problems discussed were improving taxpayer services, reducing litigation, strengthening infrastructure, and preparing an actionable roadmap for the Income Tax Department’s future functioning.
Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Ravi Agrawal chaired the conclave of Principal Chief Commissioners of Income Tax and Principal Directors General of Income Tax.
On the department’s future direction, Agrawal held interactive discussions with senior officials and outlined the need to translate recommendations emerging from the deliberations into an actionable roadmap, an official statement said.

e-HRMS, service matters, reservation policy, future projects, the Systems Directorate, capacity building, expenditure budget, TDS administration, and inter-agency coordination were broadly discussed by the conclave.
Discussions were also held concerning Infrastructure requirements and essential facilities at Income Tax offices across the country.
Officials shared opinions on issues encountered by the department and determined priorities for its future functioning.
The conclave was attended by CBDT members Pankaj Kumar Mishra, Sanjay Bahadur, Prasenjit Singh, G Aparna Rao, Pallavi Agrawal and Sunil Kumar Singh, along with principal chief commissioners, principal directors general, commissioners of Income Tax (Administration) and other senior officers from across the country.
