Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development, will address a meeting to discuss GST reforms of the agriculture sector.
The representatives of the Tractor and Mechanisation Association (TMA), Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (AMMA), All India Combine Harvester Manufacturers Association (AICMA), Power Tiller Association of India (PTAI), and other related organisations will attend the meeting.
This meeting will address the decision to lessen the GST rates on agricultural machinery and equipment (from 12-18% to 5%), assuring that the benefits are delivered to farmers, and formulating strategies for seamless implementation of these reforms.
The Central Government, which has declared a GST reduction, shall decrease the costs of tractors and other machinery for farmers by 7-13 per cent. The dual benefit of subsidy schemes, combined with lower taxation, will also be received by the farmers, while indigenous agricultural machinery manufacturers will receive a competitive edge under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
