The winter session of Parliament has ended on December, 2015 and disappointed us over the Goods and Services Tax (GST). The government has failed to break deadlock on the Constitution Amendment Bill in this session. The bill has been delayed further. FM Jaitley’s deputy, Mr. Jayant Sinha said that the government would have liked to roll-out the GST and also wanted it to be simple.
When the session started one month ago then it was expected to break down the deadlock over the GST, but it has been slacking in the Parliament since last December. Talking about the Bill, it is the biggest and most vital indirect taxation regime of country since 1947. It will create a customs union for 1.2 billion people of our nation. The Goods and Services Tax will replace the federal and state levies.

Apart from this, the upper house has decided to implement the Juvenile Justice Bill at the eleventh hour of the last day of winter session. This Bill prescribes hard chastisement for the juveniles, aged 16-18 in case of heinous crimes.
The opposition party, Congress has washed out over the GST passage. Now the government has changed the deadline of the GST from April 1 to June 1, 2016. In addition, the government also wanted passing the bankruptcy bill in the parliament. Mr. Arun jailtely was considering the bill as money bill because the money bill does not follow the rule of Rajya Sabha, but it was decided at the last moment.
In the upper house of Parliament, the ruling BJP has lack of majority, therefore the GST Bill is stuck in the Parliament but it was passed in the lower house (lok Sabha) in May, 2015 .
