From the continuous last 5 years, the tax collection of Uttar Pradesh has been increased by 25% and lies at Rs 2522 cr more in Dec 2020 with respect to Dec 2019. The finance minister mentioned that the revenue is on a steady increase.
The set target for the month was Rs 14,536.47 crore, and the original GST collection lies at Rs 12,530.70 crore or 86.2% of the given target. However, it is more than the last financial year of the identical period which was Rs 10,008 crore. Although the state has managed to receive only 86.2% of the set revenue said by finance authorities to FE, also he was seeking that the coming quarter results will be much better. “The state’s revenue collection has been continuously showing an upward trend despite the pandemic, and this shows that the state’s economy is fast recovering. We hope to further improve our revenue collection in the last quarter,”
Concerning the growth in the collection among several departments the state transport departments shows the best performance who has raked in Rs 734.44 crore with respect to the month’s target of `648.75 crores. At the same time in 2019, it was Rs 551.39 crore. The department has taken 113% of the given target, people who have helped in lifting are all admired throughout the movement of Covid-19.
Similar to the previous month the excise collection was effective and reaches 102% of the target. Rs 2,106 crore was the last year’s collection of excise duties for the same period which rises at Rs 3149 cr in this year for the present period. from stamp and registration Rs 1822 cr was received with respect to last year which was Rs 1423 cr, who has achieved the monthly target of Rs 2072 cr.
From Rs 3,679 crore the revenue collection from GST has risen to Rs 4256 cr. This was 77.8% of the target of `5469 crore. Value Added Tax (VAT) collections also have risen from Rs 2,072 crore last year to Rs 2,271 crore, reaching 80% of its target of Rs 2,856 crore.
