Rajasthan Becomes Third State to Pass SGST Bill

Recently after a big disruption caused by a fraternity of MLA’s in the Rajasthan assembly, which evoked the speaker and other head ministers to suspend them for initial one year, the assembly has been finally able to pass the state goods and service tax successfully. This is the third one in the row after the Telangana and Bihar passing the SGST bill in their respective assemblies.

Let alone, Congress MLA, Pradhyumn Singh, remaining all the members of parliament supported the bill and has maintained the significance of the bill. With this, all the tax laws affiliated to the value added tax (VAT), entertainment tax, entry tax of goods, luxury tax and others will now be absorbed in the upcoming SGST law.

The industry minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat gave a long statement in which he covered almost every inch of detail, “the day would be remembered in history and state had contributed to accelerating the country’s GDP, The complexity in taxes was a tax in itself. The GST is aimed to reduce these complexities and turn the country’s into a developing economy Under the garb of GST, the Centre will not be able to operate arbitrarily. States will have a much larger say as the council has one-third of its members from the Union government and two-thirds from state governments. This will strengthen co-operative federalism.”
