PM Modi Meets Opposition Parties, GST can be Passed Soon

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi took a move to the Opposition on Feb 16, 2016 regarding the passage the GST Bill in the upper house of Parliament. In the meeting, the PM expressed his words in the presence of floor leaders of all major parties in the both houses of of Parliament. He said that the ruling BJP was ready to discuss in the Parliament “each and every issue”, which the Opposition wanted. But on the condition that they do not disturb in the Parliament.

Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, Parliament Affairs Minister said, the government was “willing to go the extra mile” to meet to the opposition parties.

Speaking the government hopeful over the GST, he said, “The government is willing to go the extra mile to reach out to the Opposition. Secondly, government — without compromising on the basic principles of the (GST) Bill — is ready to discuss various suggestions and then the House has to take a final view.”

The government is hopeful about the passage the GST that opposition parties will cooperate in rolling out the Amendment Constitution bill in the Rajya Sabha. Mr. Naidu further added, “The prime minister has taken a personal initiative, spent considerable time, heard everyone and assured them that the government is ready to discuss each and every issue. Whatever is brought to his notice in an appropriate manner, he will take every necessary action.”
