Introduced the Goods and Services Tax Bill in Dec 19, 2014, since, it is being rubbed between the politics’s quarreles. Now, the Road Transport Minister, Mr. Nitin Gadkari said that the main opposition party, Congress do not want to back the Constitution Amendment bill, they will be isolated. Our party is hopeful about the passage of the GST Bill.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has a power of backing from small parties to implement the bill without the support of Congress in the Upper House of the parliament in next session that will be started upcoming month. Although, firstly, the Constitution bill had been proposed by the Congress party in 2006 and but they now had resisted the bill in the Rajya Sabha in last winter session.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Gadkari said, “If the Congress don’t want to support the bill, they will be isolated. The other opposition parties will support it, and I am expecting that the bill will be passed” He further added, “Congress wants to play politics on this issue.”

The Goods and Services Tax that is known as a vital taxation reform of the India since independence. It will reduce the extra taxation burden as the GST will combine several indirect taxes as service tax, excise duty, VAT etc. The Congress is opposing the bill as they are demanding several changes in the bill that includes reducing the overall GST rate from 18% and scrapping an additional 1 per cent tax on inter state sales of goods.
