As per a ruling by the Haryana Authority for Advance Rulings, GST (Goods and Services Tax) will be applicable to the mining rights granted to miners and mining companies by the government at the same rate of 5% which is applicable to the supply of the material being mined.
2017 GST notifications are mandatory for all the relevant and current happening within the goods and services tax regime.
Recently, the GST council had decided to slash some more tax rates on around 54 services and 29 items in a meeting. Presently, there are 4 GST slab rates namely, 5 percent, 12 percent, 18 percent and 28 percent.
There is a good news for the construction equipment industry as the sector is all set to grow higher in this year due to slashed GST rates on them. It is expected that the industry may sell over one million units globally this year, as mentioned by the significant player in the industry, JCB.
As the Union Budget is in the line and about to present after two weeks, the GST Council is considering to come down the tax rates for some products, as per the report the number is 80, and thinking over to include the real estate under GST in 25th GST council meeting.
In the upcoming GST council meeting which is to be held on 18th January 2018, it is speculated that there would be rate revision of around 70 to 80 products and services.
