In a drastic turn towards uncertainties, this time a Mumbai based tube and pipe manufacturer company (APL Apollo Tubes) has filed a written petition against the central government and goods and services network (GSTN) for allegedly changing the input tax credit claim figures. This has baffled the corridors of finance ministry as well as GSTN management as the figures are tuned to be around 16 crores and the petition claims that the actual amount has been reduced to four times to that of original due to a technical glitch, something which the company is not responsible at all.
The company which is also listed on Bombay stock exchange stated that the GSTN had done some non-appropriate changes in the Tran -1 form of GST which is being used for claiming input tax credit which was paid under the previously followed tax scheme. The company claimed that the ITC of 16 crores was reduced to only 4 crores and credited to the company due to the error which meant a big loss.
The petition exactly stated that “Union of India may be directed to urgently take over GSTN and to replace its top management in public interest.”
The issues are common within the GSTN portal as many of companies are coming forward to address the problems being faced by them on several occasions including tax return filing and for claiming input tax credit.
