From the traders to claim the amnesty scheme announced in the state budget 2022, the Kerala state GST department has invited applications from the traders. The application would get submitted online. The businesses would submit the options to settle the arrears of several taxes such as Kerala Value Added Tax (KVAT), General Sales Tax, Central sales tax, luxury tax, surcharge, and Agriculture Income Tax.
Under the policy states, there is a 100% waiver on the interest and the penalties excluding the KGST arrears post-2005. For the case of KGST defaulters, the penalty has been exempted for the arrears after 2005. A 40% exemption would be provided to those who remit the arrears at one time, and 30% for those who furnish in instalments. The amnesty scheme is indeed subjected to apply on the due cases.
The users would obtain the arrear information on the GST department’s officials’ website. The businesses must take one-time enrollment from the website of the dept www.keralataxes.gov.in separate options would be submitted for every year. The traders could submit the options if the arrear information on the website is accurate. In additional cases, the options could be submitted after amending the errors. The amount could be remitted online post to the taxes offices to approve the application.
