J&K Makes Record of Highest GST Revenue Collection in Sep 2020

The business has started after the lockdown phase due to covid-19 and also after the closing on 5 August. It is concluded that the centre has collected 2nd highest GST from Jammu and Kashmir in the last month all over the country. It means that from the last few weeks in Jammu and Kashmir there is much effective business made across.

Jammu and Kashmir Gets Highest GST Collection

The government has collected Rs 650 crore GST in the month of September which is the highest from all the last month sourced from news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS). Also, it is the 2nd highest GST collection across the country from the previous month. This resembles that the business is running in a normal state.

“This indicates business operations have started in Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir’s economy has been badly affected since August 5 last year,” “There was lockdown for months with no business. Now the business has started resuming in Kashmir. But there are some sectors that are difficult to survive,”

A hotel owner Bilal Ahmad said tourism is not running and is to be started in Kashmir. “This sector has been almost shut since August 5 last year. We can only make our earning once tourists visit Kashmir,” Tourism is said to be the backbone of Kashmir’s economy where more than 20 % of people depend. In 2018, Kashmir received 3,16,434 tourists amid August and December. In 2019, the number fell to 43,0,59 for an identical period.
