GST Wing Signs MOU with Forensic Sciences University

National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of digital forensic laboratories and food sharing details, the advancement of the technology and the skill development for the digital forensic field. The MoU was signed by the Pr. Director General of DGGI, Shri Surjit Bhujabal, and Dr J. M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, Gandhinagar.

For preventing GST evasion, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) top intelligence agency, DGGI would have been obligated to accumulate and disseminate the details and execute the needed controls. As an institution of national importance to advance forensic science education and research NFSU would have been made by the Indian Parliament.

The NFSU would have been equipped with cutting-edge digital forensics equipment and the capability to scrutinize and explore digital evidence, it is also called the 1st and the mere forensic sciences institute. It has united digital forensics with institutes of various countries, national organisations, the Enforcement Directorate, DRDO, and the Central Bureau of Investigation.

As the same has counted under the top scrutiny divisions of CBIC, the effective use would have been executed by DGGI of the data analysis techniques and cutting-edge technology for fetching the bogus tax and destroying the huge incorrect invoice networks. In these cases, it catches criminals. DGGI’s investigative and digital forensic capabilities would get robust by this MoU and it also supports the companies to draw victorious cases to trial and accumulate the guilty rulings.

For securing the revenues of the government and plugging leaks, fast and useful convictions of effective tax offenders sustained the facilitation of trade by ensuring a proper tax regime for the honest assessee. With the technical requirements, developing the digital forensic labs, uniting on research, and training initiatives, and mutually assisting each other shall get simpler for DGGI and NFSU through the MoU.
