Banaras Hindu University and its affiliated colleges, Vasanta Rajghat, RGSC, Arya Mahila and DAV degree college will be including GST as the part of the study from January 2018. Departmental and faculty of studies approved the move to add this new course to the syllabus. This proposal was sent to the Scholars Council on 14 December for consideration. This new course is creating five units in faculty and one of the units from mentioned will focus on custom related provisions. After implementation of this proposal, the PM Narendra Modi’s initiate of GST rollout will be taught to students.

Concerning the course, it will include types of GST, features of GST, Central GST, State GST, restriction under GST, filing, position of tax, registration, limits of GST, GST discounts, penalty for ignorance, relation in custom and GST, effects of GST on economy, and who comes under realm of GST.
According to Dr C.P. Mall, Professor Head & Dean said that GST is divided into four sections. Sixth semesters students of this year will be studying about the GST soon. He further said that schedule is ready for this new syllabus and sent out to the concerned colleges as well. Four teachers will be delivering the lectures on this subject. He mentioned that this course is approved by Faculty Board Of Member on 17 November this year. After that, he had forwarded this proposal to Academic Council for approval.
