Cost-effectiveness is trending and the implementation of GST and E-way bill supports the same. This is evident from the declaration which has come from the Accutime which hinted and suggested the Cos rethink its logistics. As per a city-based transportation firm the GST and the e-way bill system seems to bring drastic changes in the whole frame of the Companies and in effect of it, the companies are supposed to restructure their logistics strategy to become cost savvy and bring cost-effectiveness to the whole system.
This is creating new opportunities for long-distance logistics companies like Accutime, its director V V Rao said.
“With GST in place, companies are trying to centralise logistics operations, doing away with multiple warehouses in the country to fulfil local requirements. E-way bill has also made this possible,” Rao told PTI.
There is increased demand from companies, including FMCG majors, for transportation of goods on a long-haul basis, he said.
It is claimed by Rao that Accutime is a direct-to-destination Less Than-Truck-Load (LTTL) service provider which could be used by the Companies to save around 20 per cent on logistics outgo as compared to express services.

“The express cargo operators are unable to offer this service at competitive prices, and that is where we come into the picture,” he said.
The company, which started operations on the Kolkata-Mumbai route, will soon add cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad, Rao said.
Rao added that the aim of Accutime is to earn and accumulate Rs 350-crore as revenue over the next three years which has been marked to be Rs 120 crore over the last fiscal.
