The Simplicity of Implementing Business for MSMEs
Traders’ body Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) mentioned that there is no decision avail through the government to restrict the violations of e-commerce firms which seems to be a hurdle for the traders of the country. CAIT is doing unwanted business things like deep discounting, predatory pricing, preferred treatment to sellers, circumvention of FDI laws, etc. through the marketplaces such as Amazon and Flipkart from the previous 2 years. The trader’s body writes to several ministries and Prime Minister Narendra Modi so as to execute the e-commerce rules in a quicker way so as to check the unwanted business doings through the e-commerce firms.
“We deeply regret that we have to issue such a statement after waiting for about five years in the hope of any substantial action from the governments both central and state governments. It is most astonishing that US senators have taken cognisance of the malpractices by Amazon in India but so far no government department or the ministry (in India) has taken any note of it. The trading community feels cheated by foreign-funded e-commerce companies, a tax expert said.”
Also, Amazon and Flipkart are facing the probe through the competition Commission of India (CCI) to allege for promoting the chosen sellers upon their platform and anti-competitive practices even as the 2 firms have rejected the accusations.
CAIT who avails to represent nearly 8 cr traders towards 40,000 trade associations in India urge Prime Minister to address the circumstances “but unfortunately the bureaucratic system has highly distorted his vision about the small businesses. Pension to traders, formation of a National Traders Welfare Board, Insurance for the traders, simplified GST, Mudra scheme and several other steps were taken by him but sadly all these schemes were greatly distorted and GST has become one of the most complicated tax systems,” traders said.
CBI investigation has been urged by the associations towards the Amazon based on the article towards how Amazon has copied the products and rigged explore outcomes in India to promote its personal brands.
On the date, June 21 the draft rules for e-commerce have been directed which seeks the stakeholders to comment till July 21st of this year. But there is no transparency on when correctly the rules shall be notified and is subjected to execution.
As per the PTI report before this month mentioned, the Commerce minister mention that “The consumer rules around the e-commerce are under public consultation. I warmly welcome feedback from various stakeholders but I have to protect everybody’s interest and balance consumers interest, e-commerce interests, retailers’ interests.”
