Today GST is the sole tax governance of the nation and keeping this fact in mind the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has written a proposal to the Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank asking to accommodate chapters on GST in schools or colleges.
CIAT further says that the current education system is still going old school by adopting the old tax system while today everything related to tax is pictured under GST frames.
Under GST regime, the country has witnessed a revolution in the indirect tax system while the students in schools and colleges are still learning the old taxation system, says CIAT National Maha Praveen Khandelwal. As a result, the children getting lessons under the current education system will lack knowledge about GST and will not be able to cope up its laws and implementation.
GST is hard to pertain if you do not have enough knowledge about its functioning in the Country. In the future, students will grow up and contribute to the tax collection of the country and for that, they must be aware of the working of GST. Most of them will grow up to become future CA, economists or business persons who will counter GST in their everyday lives.
Without the base being strong the future CA, CS, accountants or economists will not be able to do justice to their profession adversely affecting the business community who is dependant on them for computing its tax liabilities.

As per the demands of CAIT, the recent education system must include the fundamentals of GST in its 11th and 12th and college syllabus for students. Further, GST must be introduced as an essential segment under taxation in the books of CA and CS training.
