CBDT Allows Sharing of Income-Tax Data with Andhra Pradesh ITE&C to Identify Eligible Welfare Scheme Beneficiaries

CBDT Notification No. 118/12026 for Andhra Pradesh Welfare Schemes

CBDT Notification No. 118/2026 dated September 9, 2026, has been reported to the Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications (ITE&C), Government of Andhra Pradesh. This designation aims to provide information about income taxpayers to help identify eligible beneficiaries for various welfare schemes implemented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has issued the notification in exercise of the powers granted u/s 258(1)(b) of the Income-tax Act, 2025.

According to the notification, information will be shared with the Secretary of ITE&C of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to identify individuals eligible for benefits under various state government welfare schemes. This initiative aims to utilise relevant income tax information to effectively identify eligible beneficiaries in line with the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 2025.

The notification was issued on 9 September 2026, providing the legal basis for sharing relevant information with the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s notified authority for the stated purpose.
