Interactive Session for Model GST Law Held in Tamil Nadu

interactive-sessionTamil Nadu saw a significant discussion meeting recently in which Salem Central Excise and Service Tax

Commissionerate made some important clarifications on Goods and Service tax regime which is destined to roll out on April 1, 2017, absorbing all the indirect taxes currently prevailing in the nation.

The Commissionerate is working under Central Board of Excise and Customs and Union Ministry of Revenue and must be acknowledged with all the terms and procedures of GST model. The discussion was held in the viewpoint of Salem, Erode, Namakkal and Dharmapuri districts, and the major focus was to impart the beneficial information of the whole taxation regime. Recently the Finance Minister saw giving positive notes over the GST by saying that it will increase healthy competition withing the MSME sector.

S. Arokiaraj, Joint Commissioner, Central Excise and Service Tax was giving a brief over the new taxation scheme and also denoted that it will be the most important tax reform the government is applying in India. He also added that “trade and industry are important stakeholders and in that endeavor training of trade and industry will be a priority.”

C. Thiyagarajan, Deputy Commissioner, and G. Satish, Assistant Commissioner, were also seen denoting some important points on the taxation scheme.
