Things to Note Down:

CBDT Permitted ITR e-Verification for Last 5 Years

With this, according to an order issued by CBDT, If the ITR-5 is not furnished on time, then the return can be considered as not-filed or in other words invalid. With the intention of resolving the complaints related to it at once, CBDT has given permission for e-verification of electronically filed income tax return data for the assessment years 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19, and 2019-20 till 30 September.

The CBDT stated in an order that a large number of electronically filed income tax returns are still pending. The reason for this is not sending the ITR-5 (Verify) form to the Centralized Processing Center (CPC) Bengaluru (Bengaluru) by the respective taxpayers. Under this, either ITR-5 Form has to be signed and sent to CPC Bengaluru or it can be verified through EVC / OTP.
