In between all the ongoing Political drama, UP Government introduced the new migrant’s commission in the state with the aim of doing the registration and provide jobs to the migrant workers. Just after two days, on Tuesday Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh announced that all the workers and labours who have returned to the state from other states will get houses and shops at affordable rates. Along with it, he announced that the Government will also help them with the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other amenities such as water, electricity, etc.
With the migrant commission and Kamgar/Shramik Kalyan Aayog, the UP government will also provide social security, training, insurance to all the returning workers. Here, under the training programme, they will be provided with an internship allowance. The Government is also expecting to finish-up all the skill-moping process in the next 15 days. Awasthi shared the information that they have made all the arrangement to bring back around 21.17 lakh migrant workers in the UP state with 1,454 special trains. He also informed that till Monday around 17 lakh workers have been brought in the states in around 1,265 Shramik Special trains.
Mr. Awasthi further added that “the CM has sought a list of workers from other states who are wanting to return to UP. All those who want to come back will be brought back in a respectful manner”. Awasthi also informed that around 2.51 lakh people returned to Gorakhpur via 199 trains, while 1.09 lakh people returned to Lucknow on 86 trains. Additionally, he also shared that “457 trains from Gujrat have brought back 6.60 lakh people, 280 trains from Maharashtra have brought back 3.80 lakh migrant workers, and from Punjab,2014 trains brought back around 2.22 lakh people.
