The goal of the scheme is to persuade customers to request invoices from retailers for purchases they made within the state, obliging retailers to do the same for their sales.

Consumers will be urged, according to Mann, to upload receipts from their purchases to the “Mera Bill” app in order to be eligible for a fortunate draw that will be held on the 7th of every month.

There will be a maximum of 10 awards in each taxing district (there are 29 in the state), bringing the total number of prizes awarded each month to 290.

The incentive will have a maximum capping of Rs 10,000 and be equal to five times the taxable value of the goods or services included in the bill.

He mentioned that the list of winners would get shown on the website of the taxation department including the winners shall indeed get told via the mobile app.

The bill pertinent to the sale and purchase of petroleum products (crude oil, petrol, diesel, aviation turbine fuel, and natural gas) as well as B2B (business to business) transactions would not get qualified to take part in the scheme, Mann stated.

The CM urged the people to save bills for all of their transactions and urged them to actively engage in the scheme so that the message of tax compliance could reach every home and the state would receive its fair share of the revenue for the many social welfare schemes.

According to Mann, the scheme will provide the government with the ability to verify tax evasion.
