He also talked about the launching of three new SIPUs, the Central Unit at the Patiala headquarters, Madhopur in Pathankot, and Mohali. The Tax Intelligence Unit, Patiala, and the Central Unit will work in cooperation.

The Finance Minister mentioned that GST Prime will boost taxpayer compliance and tax tracking for authorities as one of its key features.

He said that you could describe the system as an interface between tax administrators, the GST Common Portal, and E-way Bill Systems.

The taxation department’s actions, according to the finance minister, are to ensure effective tax compliance, find out major defaulters, keep taxpayer information readily available, identify taxpayers for audit, and conduct inspections to look for fraud.
