The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) recently commented on the conditions of goods and services tax in the logistics sector as it considered it to be positive for the industry but various other issues have covered up all the better points of it. The technical issues in the GSTN portal along with complex compliance have been making the problematic situation for the logistics sector.
The complications are further hiked due to the government lower focus on the solution and no consistent upgradation towards the betterment of the software. The interstate transportation is in issues due to this non-responsive mechanism of government.

In a report of Ficci, it is stated that “More than 50 percent of respondents mentioned that goods vehicles are no longer stopped and checked at state borders, and 59 percent respondents have cited reduction in transportation time after GST has been implemented.”
The federation also stated that the respondent was over and over pointing out the issues of the GSTN portal associated with volume handling and quick responsiveness. It said that “Problems like a delayed reflection of updated data as well as payments, delays in process of input credit set-offs, inability to upload heavy files of certain formats and lack of provision to modify or revise errors posed major challenges to businesses.”
The exporters were also in a problematic situation as they are not able to claim the refunds on time which leads to capital flow issues.
It’s total failure on technology ground. No real-time response from portal and help desk.
