Till now, all the issues detected by the panel has been resolved. The purpose of the meeting is to get the current return filing format stabilized and also to prepare a new effective format to cope up with the future challenges.
The Revenue department though has tested a new GST returns form designed by them named – Sahaj and Sugam and asked for comments from the stakeholders. Following this, the new committee has now started reading the comments on the new draft format of the GST form and trying to finding out to whether any changes could be done based on the suggestions.
GSTN, meanwhile is giving the final touch to the software of New return filing format and the new form has been approved by the GST council in the meeting held on 21st July and it is going to be tested for the first time on 1st of January 2019

The other GSTN panel members are Kerala’s Finance Minister Thomas Isaac, Chhattisgarh Minister of Commercial Taxes Amar Agrawal, Karnataka Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender.
