New GST E-Way Bill 2.0 Portal to Offer Services with New Features from 1st July

GSTN to Unveil Improved GST E-Way Bill Portal on July 1, 2025

An upgrade to the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) E-Way Bill system has been announced with the launch of a new portal, which will go live on July 1, 2025. The aim of this platform is to ease the process of handling transport documentation for businesses.

The Updates

Important new features are being introduced in the GST E-Way Bill 2.0 portal, which permits users to

  • Generate detailed transport documents in one go
  • Extend the validity period of transport documents
  • Update transporter information easily
  • Retrieve important documents quickly
  • Make updates across different parts of the transport documentation

Such features shall function smoothly irrespective of which e-way bill version you use to start with.

Reliable and Always Ready

The two versions of the E-Way Bill system shall be linked and updated in real-time, which signifies that data will be synchronised quickly. If users encounter that one portal has technical issues, then they can switch to the other portal to continue their work without interruption.

Easy Access for Businesses

Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) make the new functionalities available, which makes it simpler for large companies and transport operators to combine such features into their systems. Earlier, businesses have tested these APIs in a sandbox environment.

Looking Ahead

With the same upgrade, businesses can ensure seamless operation even if there are any technical issues. GSTN, with time, plans to link the data from both portals for effective service.

All businesses and logistics partners have been motivated by GSTN to start exploring the updated features and adapt their systems ahead of the launch date. Users can get more assistance by checking out the user manuals or contacting the GST helpdesk.
